Who it’s for: Full-time farmers with a minimum of 3 years’ verifiable production history
Agri Seed Capital is a Micro Finance Institution (MFI) that exists to address the problem of financial inclusion affecting subsistence and small-scale farmers. Its three-year incubation programme aims to establish a pipeline of future finance-ready farmers. PubMed Central
This programme is consequently ideal for farmers who are already producing at scale and are ready to take the next step toward structured, bankable growth. Support services cover production credit access and business development guidance specifically designed to strengthen and expand farming enterprises. 2. FCI4Africa Open Call 1 ๐ช๐บ

FCI4Africa is a European Union-funded initiative focused on building fair, climate-neutral, and health-promoting food trade systems in Africa’s agricultural sector. Its first open call provides financial support to research and technology stakeholders contributing to one of two objectives: testing and validating existing FCI4Africa business concepts and tools, or developing entirely new ideas addressing specific project-identified challenges.
Importantly, only single applicants are accepted โ meaning there is no requirement to form a consortium. This makes the call particularly accessible to individual universities, research institutes, tech developers, R&D SMEs, and innovation-driven startups. Eight sub-projects will be funded in total. Implementation runs from November 2026 through October 2027 across three structured phases: design, development, and validation.

3. GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2026 ๐
Sector: Agribusiness & Agri-Food Innovation | Open to all 55 AU member states

Organised under Generation Africa by AGRA, and backed by founding partners Econet and Yara International, the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is one of Africa’s most prestigious youth agribusiness platforms. Now in its sixth year, it rewards the continent’s most innovative young food and agribusiness entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and global visibility.
The total prize pool stands at $160,000. Two grand prizes of $50,000 each are awarded to one male-led and one female-led business. An additional $60,000 in impact awards, distributed as $15,000 each, recognises excellence in five categories: Technology and Innovation, Nutrition and Food Security, Job Creation, Climate Resilience, and Gender Equity.
To be eligible, applicants must be aged 18 to 35, hold nationality from an AU member state, and operate or be in the process of registering a legal agribusiness headquartered in an AU member state. Applicants must also be founders or co-founders actively involved in their company’s operations and leadership.
Winners gain continental visibility and are recognised at the Presidential Youth Town at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda in September 2026.

4. Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) 2026 Global Funding Call ๐

Open to: SMEs, cooperatives, NGOs, social enterprises & agribusinesses across 101 eligible countries
The Common Fund for Commodities (CFC) invests in transformative, high-impact projects that empower smallholders and strengthen the communities they sustain. Its goal is to align commercial success with environmental regeneration and social inclusion enabling farmers to access high-value markets, adopt climate-smart practices, add value locally, and protect biodiversity. The programme consequently seeks innovative, high-impact projects that improve smallholder farmers’ livelihoods, strengthen local economies, expand market access, and promote sustainable agricultural practices. Priority areas include:

The Africa Business Accelerator is a flagship programme of the Africa SME Assembly an intensive 8-week programme tailored for African entrepreneurs who have moved beyond the idea stage and are actively building businesses with growth potential. The SASI Due Diligence Fund, administered by Germany’s GIZ on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), is a competitive fund supporting innovative, practical approaches to human rights and environmental due diligence in global agricultural supply chains.
Round 5 gives special focus to gender equality and social inclusion, in recognition of the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026. Key thematic areas include deforestation-free supply chains, climate and biodiversity, digital inclusion, gender equality, and living incomes for smallholder farmers and plantation workers.
Applications must come from partnerships that include at least one EU, EEA, Swiss, or UK-based company combined with at least one company in an OECD-DAC listed country. Submit a short proposal using Template A and Template B by email to ddf@giz.de before the deadline.
