Every year, thousands of young agripreneurs across Africa build genuinely innovative food and agribusiness ventures with the potential to transform local economies and food systems. Yet too many of those ventures remain invisible, underfunded, and unknown beyond their immediate communities. GoGettaz 2026 is designed to change that.

Now in its sixth year, the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is one of the most prestigious youth agribusiness platforms on the continent. Organised under Generation Africa by AGRA and backed by founding partners Econet and Yara International, the competition rewards Africa’s boldest young food and agribusiness entrepreneurs with funding, mentorship, and continental visibility.

Who Is GoGettaz For?
The competition is open to young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35 who hold nationality from any of the 55 African Union member states and operate, or are in the process of registering, a legal agribusiness headquartered in an AU member state.
For agribusiness founders, GoGettaz is particularly relevant if your venture operates in any of the following areas:
- Food and Agribusiness Innovation
- AgriTech and Digital Agriculture
- Climate-Smart Agriculture
- Nutrition and Food Security
- Agricultural Job Creation
- Gender-Inclusive Agribusiness Models
- Input Supply and Value Chain Development
What Is on the Table?
The total prize pool stands at $160,000, distributed across two categories:
Grand Prizes of $50,000 each are awarded to one male-led and one female-led business, recognising the continent’s most outstanding agribusiness innovations.
Impact Awards of $15,000 each are distributed across five dedicated categories: Technology and Innovation, Nutrition and Food Security, Job Creation, Climate Resilience, and Gender Equity.
Beyond the cash, winners gain continental recognition and are celebrated at the Presidential Youth Town at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Kigali, Rwanda in September 2026 — one of the most high-profile agricultural gatherings on the continent.
What Makes GoGettaz Stand Out?
Firstly, the competition genuinely serves all 55 AU member states, meaning founders from emerging and underserved agribusiness ecosystems are not disadvantaged relative to applicants from the continent’s larger markets.
Secondly, GoGettaz goes beyond prize money. Winners are connected to a powerful network of investors, industry leaders, and continental agribusiness stakeholders — opening doors that funding alone cannot unlock.
Thirdly, the competition’s five impact award categories mean that even businesses that do not win a grand prize can still receive meaningful recognition and funding for excellence in specific areas of agricultural impact.
As AGRA’s leadership has consistently emphasised, Africa’s food security must be built by Africans, and especially by its young entrepreneurs. GoGettaz is the platform where that belief is put into practice with real money, real mentorship, and real visibility.
How to Apply
Applications are submitted directly through the GoGettaz official platform. The strongest applications will demonstrate a clearly defined agribusiness model, evidence of early traction or impact, scalability potential across African markets, and a compelling founder story.
